Erika Juarez, Ph.D.

Dr. Erika JuarezI am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with 12 years of experience working with adolescent and adult populations in private practice. I have worked with a wide range of mental health issues such as anxiety disorders, psychosis, major depression, and personality disorders. I also have over 20 years of correctional experience, which has given me the flexibility and experience to work with a wide variety of people and problems.

My decade’s long journey as a therapist led to me receiving certification in Integrative Medicine in Mental Health and developing a unique skill set in combining traditional therapy with alternative therapies. I have become more aware of the importance of a utilizing a holistic approach to treatment. Because of this, in 2018 I sought and completed an Ayurvedic Training as a Lifestyle Consultant and integrated such practices into my treatment.

I view my role as guiding each individual in learning to trust their ability to make the necessary changes to access and create the best version of themselves resulting in an improved quality of life. In sessions, I address your presenting symptoms but also aim to identify the underlying core factors that contribute to your symptoms such as daily routines and nutrition. At the core of treatment, true change comes from holistically treating each individual’s unique story and set of life circumstances, rather than as a person with a collection of symptoms. I believe that understanding the connection between the mind and body is crucial, individualized, and interrelated. Physical and emotional well-being are inseparable, and I seek to teach my patients how to harness the delicate dance between the two in their overall well-being.

My goal is to empower each individual and guide them in seeing their ability to navigate through all the ups and downs of life successfully through combining traditional therapy techniques and alternative therapies such as breath work, lifestyle changes, and nutritional recommendations. My belief is that the goal of therapy is not to eliminate the struggles or emotional roller coasters of life. Rather, I will work with you to compassionately navigate through life supporting ourselves emotionally, physically, and spiritually. For me, therapy is a partnership where I work collaboratively with each individual to identify and establish an improved overall experience in their day to day life. I believe that any change desired in life always begins with the individual first. Change begins inside and projects out.
